About This Quote

Jesus’ blessing to Judas has been interpreted by many as a prophecy of the destruction of the Temple, but I think it’s more about how Judas’ anger will be what brings Judas to his ultimate downfall. Judas is angry throughout this passage, and Jesus knows that Judas will be his greatest sacrifice. And Judas will be angry not because he is a traitor, but because he does not understand the magnitude of the betrayal.
